Learning Delivery Approach
RNB Culinary School professional training programmes are all Quality Council for Trades and Occupations, accredited and learners receive the following components of training:
- Knowledge / theory
- Practical, and
- Workplace (work exposure)
RNB Culinary School chef learners are trained and taught in our in-house bakery, dedicated hot kitchen, hands-on demonstration kitchen and lecture rooms.
Practical experience is gained by working on our pastry deli counter, barista station and dining room situated onsite in our canteens and bed and breakfast lodge. Additional experience is earned through internships which are organised by RNB Culinary School.

RNB Culinary School in association with its parent company Mndhavazi canteens, catering and events can also offer tailor made menus as per our clients’ requirements and budget. Our catering and events services include:

Fine Dining
RNB Boutique Guest House is another subsidiary of Mndhavazi and aligned to the school, located at 35 Chroom Avenue, Roodekrans, Johannesburg and offers fine dining, contemporary and accredited South African boutique guest house. Providing hands-on training, it is a significant ingredient in the institute’s recipe to produce world class chefs. Learners do not move from a training kitchen directly into the industry but are further prepared by working for five months in our fine dining boutique guest house and corporate canteens, cooking for and serving paying customers, but supported by chef lecturers. This step in our education provides one of the most important ingredients in a student’s culinary journey, living experiences.
